Acknowledgements

The Friends of Freedom Society and Ohio Underground Railroad Association are possible only through the hard work of many volunteers.   We truly are a grass roots organization and feel a strong kinship to the grass roots movement of the Underground Railroad.

Special thanks are due to our exceptional founder and president for many years, Cathy Nelson, whose vision and inspiration have sustained us.

Special thanks are also due to the Regional Coordinators who spearhead the research work of the Ohio Underground Railroad Association.  Many volunteers throughout Ohio have offered unstintingly of their time and talents to research and preserve our precious history.  Homeowners have been gracious and supportive of our efforts.

The officers of the Friends of Freedom Society provide important leadership as well as running the organization - all without any compensation.   Thanks to our current officers as well as our past officers.

We are pleased to acknowledge the many contributions of  Bennie J. McRae, Jr. (southwind@woh.rr.com) and his wonderful Lest We Forget web site. Bennie has created, hosted and maintained information on the web for the Friends of Freedom Society for many years.
